Improvement Description
The sample metadata should be optional. If not provided, the viz will just plot the Sample IDs on the x axis, and not include the sample metadata columns in the the "sort" dropdown. This would be useful for plotting "grouped" feature tables.

Current Behavior
Metadata is required.

Proposed Behavior
Metadata is optional.
