Installing

The first step to using Building Tool is installing it in Blender.

1. Downloading

  • Head over to the Releases tab in the main Github Repo. Releases
  • Find the latest release.
  • Download the building_tools-vVERSION.zip file. Source

This addon doesn't support older versions than Blender 2.83, but it should work in 2.80 or above.

It is also recommended to rename the zip file to say building_tool.zip as opposed to building_tool-vX.X.X.zip. See Github issue #20 for more on this.

2. Installing in Blender

  • Open Blender
  • Go to Edit -> Preferences and select Add-ons tab. Preferences Add-ons
  • Click the Install button and select the downloaded zip file.
  • If everything worked, you should see the addon named Mesh: Building Tools.
  • Click on the checkbox beside the name to enable it.

3. Addon UI

  • To locate the addon tools, open blenders 3D Viewport.
  • Press the N key to bring up the N Panel.
  • Then navigate to the tab called Building Tools.
