Works for me. The hacks look like preparation for A/C. BTW (https://github.com/redis/redis-rb/blob/master/CHANGELOG.md):

What about the .gems file? Shouldn't we pin the version there as well? |

Fix issues with new redis-rb.
Note that at this point I'm not sure what's the purpose of
RedisHacksand wondering if we could just get rid of it.
