Hi

I have a suggestion: Using this page as an example, http://refgenomes.databio.org/v2/asset/rn6/salmon_sa_index/splash?tag=default is it possible to display the date of index building and the software version used?

The build log on the file actually has this information, clicking it downloads a file that has that info.

Instead of having to download it and look thru the downloaded file, is it possible to display the info on the html page itself.

salmon authors released 1.2.0 yesterday, Would you know when the relevant indices will be rebuilt with salmon v1.2.0?

Thanks

These are great suggestions. We will definitely work on adding the date and versions to the splash page.

As for the salmon indexes -- @k3yavi, do you need us to update indexes to reflect changes in the recent salmon release?

@nsheff , Thanks for bringing this up. I don't think new release warrants reindexing, there were bunch of optimization in the index building step however the index is exactly the same, minus the json would have one extra entry with the salmon version.

@nsheff @k3yavi Thanks for the notes.

Question - what is the source for Rnor fasta - NCBI or Ensembl

If Ensembl, which of these below is the genome file:

  1. ftp://ftp.ensembl.org/pub/release-96/fasta/rattus_norvegicus/dna_index/Rattus_norvegicus.Rnor_6.0.dna.toplevel.fa.gz

  2. ftp://ftp.ensembl.org/pub/release-96/fasta/rattus_norvegicus/dna/Rattus_norvegicus.Rnor_6.0.dna.toplevel.fa.gz

rn6 genome description has that info: http://refgenomes.databio.org/#rn6

the exact source URL can be found here: https://github.com/databio/databio_genomes/blob/master/asset_pep/recipe_inputs.csv

@tamuanand if you need to build the ensembl-based indexes, you can do so with refgenie build, since we're only hosting the NCBI one right now.
