ghc821 has been removed from Nix's packages, which is leading to Travis CI errors. This seems to be documented here: https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/blob/master/pkgs/top-level/haskell-packages.nix#L61
GHC 8.4.3 is the compiler version for LTS 12.13, and it would make sense to test using it.
it tracks nixpkgs-unstable which has removed these older compilers
