If one does not use the -S SCM option of the %autosetup macro in a specfile, it is possible to activate a SCM of choice by invoking rpmbuild with the somewhat convoluted option

--define="__scm SCM"

It would be even more convenient to have a shortcut option -S SCM on the commandline.
