Can you enable debug logging and send the result?

Heh - it was not easy to get this as once I have removed and reinstalled this integration (thought it might have problems because updated from older unsupported 0.0.x branch) it lead me right to the connection wizard and does not create integration entry once it pass at least once successfully.

What I have found as well - to initial communication and creation of bond the projector must be turned on. However once I turn it on and shutdown from this integration the power toggle from entity dissapears and not appears again. Have turned debugging - how to get results?

When disabling debug logging the log is downloaded to your system

Could you update to the latest GitHub main branch and see if it then works for you?

In HA go to Developer tools > Actions

action: update.install
target:
  entity_id: update.benq_projector_update
data:
  version: master

You need to have experimental features enabled in HACS to do the above.

ok - have turned on experimental mode, have updated to master edition and reinstalled the projector device in HA.
still need to be powered on to add it (but I treat this as a feature now :) ). After installation it was available to turn it on and off. Power on entity reappeared after 2 mins but after turning projector on all entity went into offline mode by whole piece. Adding a log.

Which model is your projector?

Also, you say you did an upgrade. Which version were you using before and was that working correctly?

I had 0.0.7 initially then updated to 0.1.0 and now to master. Each time I have removed the projector and have reinstalled it.
My projector is Benq TK700STi

Could you add a screenshot of your projector screen when the projectoor is on and when off?

ATM cannot connect to the projector at all. I think it might be a problem with chinese USB to serial adapter. I think as well I need a bit more powerful server for HA so will try to swap the hardware unit from existing Wyse to HP with on board serial port (this will remove one possibly failing link). Will let you know in max 3 days how it went. Will try as well to built that ESP-link board as well as have some spare parts that can build that project as well.

Does it work if you go back to version 0.0.7?

Ok, great it's working!

Yes, the projector has a warmup and cooldown time when it doesn't accept commands. During this time the entities are unavailable. So that works as designed.

To have the projector listed as supported the capabilities of the projector need to be added to the underlaying library.

You can follow these instructions:
https://github.com/rrooggiieerr/benqprojector.py?tab=readme-ov-file#detecting-your-projector-capabilities
