Ukrainian (Ukraine) translations for SAGE

I'll let others check technical formatting, but the actual translation seems to be good and should be merged!

Thank you for favorable response!
Is there a chance to see my translation in the next release of Sage?
And can I receive some documentary proof from Sage of the fact that I am
the first author of this translation? I need it for my work.

Next release is not very likely as we are in the Release Candidate state and 6.8 is just about to happen. 6.9 is quite likely, even some early beta. @kcrisman - can you check that files do what/how they should be doing and make a new spkg in the next few weeks?

Regarding documentary proof - can you be more specific what exactly do you want to get? I (as well as many others) can give you a letter saying "Я, Андрей Новосельцев, настоящим удостоверяю, что Елена Соменко предоставила разработчикам Sage первый украинский перевод пользовательского интерфейса." (Not sure if we have someone who can write a letter in Ukranian.) However, we don't really have any official organization with positions in it, so I am really "nobody". Perhaps a letter from William will bear more weight to anyone who knows something about Sage. He also has a registered organization, SageMath, Inc., but it is not dedicated to Sage development.

I don't think that there is anything you need to do other than in the .po file as you have:

# Ukrainian (Ukraine) translations for SAGE (www.sagemath.org)
# Copyright (C) 2013 SAGE
# This file is distributed under the same license as the SAGE project.
# FIRST AUTHOR Olena O. Somenko <olenasmn@gmail.com>, 2015.
#

though I would maybe get rid of that second line and the words FIRST AUTHOR. Also it is now Sage not SAGE.

I will try to do something about a new package but have had and will have very limited internet for some time.

Also, I think that although you have added translation strings for

msgid "uk_UA"
msgstr "українська (Україна)"

in the .po file, that doesn't mean that they actually will show up in the appropriate places. E.g. it would be useful to have that in the other translation files like sagenb/translations/de_AT/LC_MESSAGES/messages.po. I think that the code for get_languages in sagenb/misc/misc.py will take care of the actual showing up of the option in the configurations.

There is also the .pot though there is the stuff from #238 - what utility did you use, by the way, to construct this?

By the way, although this would be unrelated, you may find http://trac.sagemath.org/ticket/17363 interesting.

If needed we could ask Sasha Konovalov (one of key GAP developers ) to look the translation over; he could probably write a letter in Ukranian, too.

OK, I'll wait for release 6.9
Letter in Ukrainian or Russian not necessarily. In English will be fine. The main thing that he had official and presentable appearance.

kcrisman, thank you for remarks. Work on it.

I used .pot file to create my translation.

In that case you are probably missing a number of strings, or they may be
outdated. Try it out and you will probably see some English text here and
there, I suspect. Please read
https://github.com/sagemath/sagenb#localization; see also
#313 and especially
#238 (comment) for full
details.

Okay, I will not merge this as-is, because the name of the directory is wrong! So Babel will not parse things automatically. But fixing that seems to make it work well, and the number of non-translated strings is relatively minimal, as @novoselt has commented elsewhere. I will try to do that and the relevant

msgid "uk_UA"
msgstr "українська (Україна)"

bit momentarily.
