opentaps SEAS

Introduction

opentaps Smart Energy Applications Suite (SEAS) is an applications platform for clean energy of the future. It's designed to help building owners and managers, energy technology companies and service providers, utilities, municipalities, and public agencies manage, measure, and finance clean energy from building energy efficiency projects to renewable microgrids.

Included in opentaps SEAS are the following open source projects:

  • VOLTTRON for collecting IoT data through industry-standard protocols such as BACNet and MODBUS
  • Green Button for utility meter data
  • OpenEI for utility rates
  • Crate time series database for storing data
  • Grafana for visualizing data
  • Haystack for tagging and categorizing data
  • OpenEEMeter for measuring and verifying energy savings
  • Our service-oriented architecture for building your applications

  • Associate documents, files, links to videos, and notes about your assets
  • Get equipment IoT time series data collected by VOLTTRON
  • Get utility meter data with Green Button standard
  • Categorize your assets and data with Haystack tags
  • Automatically create Grafana dashboards
  • Run VOLTTRON applications include economizer, automated retrocommissioning, intelligent load control, and more through a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
  • Integrate with other data sources and applications with built-in Haystack client and server
