the Candytron timeframe - mostly written by Chaos. Interesting bit of
history :)
* werkkzeug3 is a mess, but come on, debris - you know you want to... :)

* werkkzeug3_kkrieger is from a branch called "kkrieger" in our SVN repository.
It's not the actual kkrieger code, and incorporates changes that were done
more than one year after the original kkrieger release. It was, however,
branched off before started not caring about breaking kkrieger compatibility
when making changes. You have a better chance of building the game from there
than you do from the "regular" werkkzeug3 tree - though both are unlikely to
work.
If someone really wants a close-to-original werkkzeug3 kkrieger tree, it should
be possible to do dig up something from 2004 :)

farbrausch 2002

duron 650/gf2gts/64mb

"scotty, i want real 3d
in an intro."
"that'll be a 256kb one,
then."
"i give you 64kb."
"i'll do it in 48."

----

short notes by ryg, ~45 mins before the deadline:
- the intro was produced in a timespan of about two
weeks before and at the party. as always, we ran
"slightly" out of time, so this isn't nearly as
polished or well-synched as we'd like it to be.
- it burns fillrate like hell and uses far too much
cpu by now. expect a fixed final (as always, sigh).
- problems? hotline@farb-rausch.de
- greets: all who deserve it and those i forgot.

farbrausch end of 2002.

- small update on 29.12.2002, before upload to scene.org:
(the exe itself is untouched, just a new readme :)
you need *red-cyan* 3d glasses and geforce1 or better to
be able to enjoy this intro. red-blue glasses work ok too,
but you don't really see the colors; red-green wasn't tested.
- as we're probably going to need a final version anyway :),
expect some (hopefully minor) fixes and a no3d-switch for
people who either don't have the glasses or the fillrate.

farbrausch laboratories proudly present

fr-022: ein.schlag
ms2002, pc intro 64k, #2
finally a final version

cp / kb / ryg / wayfinder (development)
gizmo / exoticorn / bombe (rg2 evaluation+moral support)

---

after far too much time after ms2002, we're back again with a
new, fixed, faster, more compatible, freshly repainted and ofcourse
final version of our beloved intro ein.schlag

---

changes:
- updated & improved content
- vastly improved hidDEN part (yes, it really exists!)
- the long-mysterious matrox bug was finally found & fixed (thanks must
go to chaos for that one)
- increased performance & shorter precalculation time
- slightly improved sound system
- final versions should be smaller than party versions (tm)
- lots of small changes

---

needs pentium II or better and nvidia tnt (or better) graphics card.
we recommend 600 MHz (or more) and a geforce-class graphics card (or
better) for maximum enjoyment.

tested successfully on every machine I threw it on.
works fine with ati (radeon or better), nvidia (tnt or better), and
matrox (g400+better, probably g200 too) cards.

needs directx 8.1.

---

the greets (no, the scrollers in the intro are long enough):
kolor, mfx, freestyle, calodox, ex-haujobb, the pimp brigade,
einklang.net, aardbei, satori, damage, bypass, blackmaiden,
exceed, 3state, t-rex, kewlers, threepixels, unknwown productions,
elerium core, smash designs, inf, ukonx, moppi productions, scenic,
sunflower, copro, fan, tpolm, hornet, fuel and all we (delibarely?)
forgot.

---

cp wants to thank:
ryg and gizmo for doing the dirty job and making rg2 (our tool)
as stable and powerful as it was when I first touched it,
wayfinder for being as creative as I am not (sense? :)),
critikill for ideas...

wayfinder says:
ein.schlag means a lot to me, thanks everyone for their support!
thanks ryg and kb for the tools, thanks chaos for inspiring us
thanks #szene.ger, #trax, #k, #s, #buzz, #phatbuzz
thanks gizmo for help getting started
thanks paniq for criticizing the shit out of my music :D
thanks farbrausch for being who you are

ryg wants to thank:
jeff royle & the driver guys @ ati (awesome support!)
ir, scali, scoop, ld0d & others @ ircnet #coders (beta testing)
bombe, cp, exoticorn, gizmo, wayfinder (my favourite user base! :)
and all my friends in the scene, ofcourse (not in the mood for typing
4k personal greet lists :)

fr-024: welcome to...

...another long-time-prepared and short-time-finished
farbrausch product!

this is the official breakpoint 2003 pc invitation. breakpoint is a
new german party at easter meant to help all those sceners who don't
know how to spend that weekend after mekka&symposium sadly gave up...

refer to http://breakpoint.untergrund.net for details or just mails us
at breakpoint@untergrund.net

with that said, some details about the actual intro (as always): it
should work pretty much everywhere this time, albeit it will probably
be kinda slow on older computers (sorry, but high poly count and trans-
parencies is what makes this prod look good, so no compromises here).
in the hopefully unlikely case that you still have problems getting it
to run, contact me at fg@farb-rausch.de, again, as always. (though i
hope we won't need a final version FOR ONCE :)

fast credits:
- giZMo (textures, camera, animation, scene design)
- ryg (main code and additional gfx)
- kb (sound code and music)

no one else involved this time!

greets must (as always) go to haujobb, kolor, threestate, threepixels,
aardbei, mfx, kewlers, calodox, vantage, headcrash, vacuum, moppi prods.,
deusexmachina, cryonics, the pimp brigade, damage, the black lotus, SCALA,
federation against nature, black maiden, bypass, noice, fairlight,
spinning kids, unique, tpolm, and, unik, t-rex, sunflower, foobug, exceed,
epidemic, orion, asd, da jormas, satori, cocoon, smash designs, popsy
team, and all i forgot (again, as always).

welcome to the world of...

fr-038: theta
a paniq/cp/ryg/chaos coproduction.
released at tum 2004.

"final version 1.01"

I. the story:
-------------

well, one guy, a pretty fucked-up idea, and 3 months of
work. (well, 2 of them idled away with experiments that didn't
make it into the final demo). and some pretty heavy-duty
short-before-the-deadline tweaking, as is customary for quality
farbrausch products.

II. compatibility:
------------------

for the final version, requirements have gone down somewhat.
a gf4ti4200 is enough to watch the demo at a decent framerate.
a pixelshader graphics card is still required though, and 64mb
or more of vram would be a very good idea. as for processors,
anything above p4 1.6ghz (or equivalent athlon) should be perfect.
256mb system ram would be cool, though it probably works with 128
just fine.

sound problems are supposed to be fixed. please mail us about
any problems you should encounter though.

III. the credits:
-----------------

this uses the werkkzeug3 and so is based on the current .kkrieger
engine (heavily modified from the one used in the beta version).
detailed credits:

paniq - concept/music/graphics/design/direction
cp - additional graphics/design
ryg - main code/additional tweaking
chaos - code
fiver2, gizmo - werkkzeug3 co-development
kb - namedropping
yoda - additional namedropping
