I was trying to use the RT feature on one of the scripting new items and it asks me to login to twitter, but since I use 2FA, it didn’t log me in properly. Keeps asking me to sign on to twitter, I do , then I enter the 2FA code but then it asks me to log in again. This was on the iPhone using Safari.

I did it myself and didn't have a problem and I also use 2FA.

I linked to this from the Scripting News home page, so hopefully we can get other people's experiences and get to the bottom of the problem.

It's actually really good timing, I'm working in this area right now.

Just tried it on my iPhone, everything worked as expected...

  1. Logged out of Twitter, erased all cookies in mobile Safari
  2. Opened scripting.com, clicked on the retweet link
  3. Was asked to log in to the Twitter app, then to enter 2FA. Did that.
  4. Was sent back to scripting.com com, clicked again on the retweet link.
  5. Got the dialog to add text to the retweet. Added text and posted.
  6. It worked. https://twitter.com/ScottHansonDE/status/1354487537058934784
