All Cops Are Bastards Public License, Version 1.0

The spirit of the license is to let people know that the users of this license will not threaten people with the violence of cops to people who copy, modify, and/or distribute works with or without fee. It simply removes all legal threats to people who obtain a copy of the work, because legal threats can end with death if a cop is involved. The name also filters out people who support cops and their actions. The name also lets people who say "ACAB" or otherwise are anti-police violence know that any license that creates legal restrictions is a license that threatens to use police violence, so they should be persuaded to use a restrictionless license such as this one. The name also keeps this license out of suits' hands, which is always a plus :)

What does it do?

It is very much in the same spirit of the WTFPL, but with even less restrictions. It is effectively the same as the WTFPL v69.420 that I made, but with streamlined text.

Why not use X?

• CC0 adds a public domain dedication. ACAB-1.0 makes no public domain dedication. See below for why.
• WTFPL 2.0 has restrictions on modifying the license. ACAB-1.0 does not make any threats if you modify the license.
• 0BSD restricts it to only software. ACAB-1.0 is for any works such as books, paintings, or software.
• MIT/ISC etc require you to include a copy of the license when you distribute your work, or else you may see a cop at your door one day for disobeying. ACAB-1.0 will not threaten you with police violence.
• Public Domain is tricky and is completely up to whatever legal system you are under control of. ACAB-1.0 makes no mention of public domain, and thus will not limit you to any legal system.

Using this license

1. The simplest way is to download or copy/paste the full text of the ACAB-1.0 and distribute it with your work. Common file names for the license file is LICENSE or COPYING. If the work features multiple licenses, it is common to call the file COPYING.ACAB-1.0 or LICENSE.ACAB-1.0.
2. You should also add the following wording to your copyright statements:
