ov50 - Climatology Data Download is corrupted and Climatology no longer reads gz format #52
Comments
Closed, Didier #58 fixed. |
This is still an issue!! Needs to be fixed. |
I have just tried a fresh download but deleting or rename of the "programdata/opencpn/plugins/climatology_pi/data folder. There is a prompt stating the data is not available do I want to download it?
This is still a problem as confirmed by Gille and me just now! |
This morning I found out that current02.gz which is 241kb cannot be extracted by 7z. because "it is not a compressed file." Current04.gz is 241kb and is also not seen as a compressed file. The problem is the larger files are not downloading properly and completing properly, or the larger original files are corrupted. I can download the Data package separately from sourceforge and extract it to gz format and it loads fine in this ov50 Climatology, so there is a problem with the download section of the plugin or with the original files that needs to be fixed. Also why are separate files being downloaded? Why download individual files? Is it for users with slow connections? |
Also if I do a separate download of the Data file and all the files are extracted completely so they are not gz the plugin works. If they are not extracted all the Wind.gz load successfully and the smaller current.gz, but not the ones that are 241kb which are not seen legitimate compressed files. |
Please see this forum post for what has to be fixed with the DATA in SourceForge. |
Also I believe that climatology no longer can read *.gz data!!!! |
This problem has been fixed for windows by reinstalling the binary data files so they are not downloaded separately. If they are deleted in the future, this problem will have to be fixed. So this Issue should remain open until a real fix is confirmed. |
Sean why are you closing this? It is not fixed yet. Are you just making the point that you are not going to fix it? I would like to reopen this. |
