FAQ: Will there be some kind of vote about introducing Seraphis and Jamtis or not?

Yes and no.

Implementation of Seraphis and Jamtis by the Monero dev community is well underway. There was no vote before starting, just a "loose consensus" among the devs to go ahead. Some parts of the broader Monero community already gave a positive vote of sorts however by donating XMR to the tune of several tens of thousands of USD through the CCS to support implementation work.

If all goes according to plan, some time in the future, maybe in 2 years or a bit later, the Monero devs will make new Seraphis and Jamtis capable software available, without any formal vote beforehand, and at the fork height all computers running that software will execute the hardfork.

Every Monero user is free to install the new software or continue to run the old one. This comes very close to a vote: "Yes" to Seraphis by switching, "No" to Seraphis by staying put.
