I am quite new to SOFA, but it attracts me to follow this framework.
I have been trying to install Sofa on windows 11, although I have downloaded all Sofapython3 plugin and cmake works just fine, But I am unable to open the previous works that has been done, I get this error:

extension (py) is only supported if the plugin SofaPython3 is loaded. SofaPython3 must be loaded first before being able to load the file

even I have changed the type of the file from *.pyscn to *.py.
I am still unable to open it, but I can open the example files contain in the SOFA package.

Hello, I assume you are running your scene with the runSofa executable. In this case you can use the -l option:

>>> runSofa -h
  -l, --load arg                load given plugins
>>> runSofa -l SofaPython3 scene.py

are you running the scene from the runSofa executable or from a python environement?

could you share the full console output when running runSofa using the -l option (towards the SofaPython3.dll)?

But as I said previously, I have added the sofapyhton3, but still getting this error. I have been trying it on the ubuntu but right now I get the error about stlib .

The problem does not come from your scene, but from your plugin loading. Take this simple scene (https://github.com/sofa-framework/SofaPython3/blob/master/examples/basic.py). You won't be able to load it because your plugin is not loaded.

Hi, I have encountered the same error, which can be solved using the -l flag. I was wondering if there's another way to solve this issue? How should I check if SofaPython3 is appropriately installed? I am using sofa v22.12 on Ubuntu 20.04. Thanks!

Yes there is other ways to make sure the SofaPython3 plugin is well loaded:

• graphic mode: you can open SOFA (only launching runSofa with no scene file), in the menu bar click on Edit > PluginManager > Add and then browse and select the SofaPython dynamic library. In the SOFA release, it is located in RELEASE/plugins/SofaPython3/lib/ (or bin/ on Windows)
• manually: you can edit the file listing the loaded plugins named plugin_list.conf and add the SofaPython3 plugin. In the SOFA release, it is located in RELEASE/lib/.

Hello, sorry for the super late response! I tried the manual option and it worked well. However, for the graphic mode option, my RELEASE/plugins directory is somehow empty. I need to look into that. Thank you for your help!
