Plugin loading failed

Hello,

There was an issue with my PC, requiring a complete re-installation of my operating system (OS) yesterday. I obtained the SOFA installation from the following website: https://project.inria.fr/softrobot/install-get-started-2/download/ since I required Soft robots and STLIB plugins. Following that, I proceeded to install SofaGym using the command "git clone https://github.com/SofaDefrost/SofaGym.git" and followed steps 2 and 3 outlined on the SofaGym GitHub page: https://github.com/SofaDefrost/SofaGym](url)](https://github.com/SofaDefrost/SofaGym.)

Given that this is already built, I simply adjusting the path. I appended Sofa/plugins, STLIB site-packages, SofaPython3 site-packages, SofaGym, and Sofa to my PYTHONPATH using ~/.bashrc.

However, I am currently encountering the following errors:

[PluginManager] Plugin loading failed (/home/name/SOFA_v22.12.00_Linux/lib/libMeshSTEPLoader.so): libTKBRep.so.11: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I attempted to manually add these missing plugins through the plugin manager on GUI, but I continue to encounter these errors.
I am also encountering the same problem with SofaPython3.

I wondered if anyone is aware of what I might have overlooked in the steps. Any guidance, advice, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you~

Hi @joseph01sf

In the install directory, you should have a file named plugin_list.conf (maybe in the lib/ folder).
You may edit it and remove the line with MeshSTEPLoader NO_VERSION

I am also working on Linux environment and having the same plugin manager issues.
I am trying to manually add the python3 plugin to the SOFA v22.12 downloaded from the release zip file.

Note that the link you mentioned points to the SOFA github repository, and now you have a more recent release: https://github.com/sofa-framework/sofa/releases/tag/v23.06.00. It is also mentioned in [this link] where you can find the list of shipped plugins, and it includes SoftRobots and STLIB

hey @alxbilger I suggest this change in the future (I get the same error as @joseph01sf in all my releases on Linux)
