Actually, I need to be kept as a creator because of the translation project.

Do further research to find the purpose of this team

I think this was about operating the various domains that are related to (and important for) the project, so they stay up and available as much as possible (or at least to our best efforts).

  • solidproject.org (domain name and continuous deployment of content from Creators)
  • solidcommunity.net (domain name, TLS certificate, Solid server - currently from NSS team)
  • solidservers.org (domain name and continuous deployment of content from the Test Suite Panel - if we want to include this one in the list)
  • etc ... (not sure if there are other domains I forgot to list)

I think @jaxoncreed and @justinwb also play a critical role in this in practice, so they should probably be listed here too?

To my knowledge the group was only in charge of operating the solidcommunity.net Solid server.
I also think that @jaxoncreed and @justinwb should be part of the group.

I think we need something else to describe the activity related to management of hosting domain name, and server. This seem to be done by @justinwb only.

An other category may be added. This is npm publishing which is not clearly defined.
It is mostly @timbl, @bourgeoa, @michielbdejong and I think @RubenVerborgh

I think we all agree that these groups are only related to access management and not recognition.
This is the intent of this solid-team action.

The domain renewal process is also discussed: solid/process#308 which involves different roles too. Do we add those roles here too or?

@TallTed do you want to be an official creator and have the appropriate gitHub right in the Solid organization?

@timea-solid — If what I've been doing classes me as a creator, sure.

There is extensive discussion of who might do what in regard to creators and a meeting should happen soonish with Oz who is also interested.

Ok I think this is now the most up to date situation. We can close this issue and for any future changes please make a new ticket.

@TallTed please accept the invite to be a creator and update your description as you like for the website on this PR (which can be edited after you accept): solid/solidproject.org#766

@timea-solid — For future invitations... You might point people directly to the organizations page (which is individualized to the viewer) where the invitation waits for approval. It took me a while to figure out where it was hiding!

@TallTed Oh I didn't know it was only available there. I got an email notification and did it through the email link. Am glad you found it!
