Use get instead of depreacated read_remote. Fix `encode` syntax.

I was checking examples, and I realized that they were not working, I've fixed the taggin example here, but would like to fix the rest.
After that, I think it would be pretty cool to change
makefileto add the examples folder to the tests. (I've tested it locally and it seems to work).Does it makes sense?
