Accessing files on networks

Question: I am trying to access a file on a network drive - how do I open it?

When in the 'File - Open' dialog left-click on the 'Type a file name' image on the top left (a pencil and notepad) or hit the shortcut CTL-L to get a 'Location' entry window. Type the network address you want here (or copy and paste the address from Windows Explorer).

Tip: Add a bookmark to this location (the 'Add' button on the bottom left) for easier access in the future.

If you are in a 'File - Save as' dialog you don't get a 'Location' entry window. As a work around, go to the 'File - Open' dialog and follow the instructions above. When you have located the right folder, add a bookmark to it. That bookmark will then be available for 'File - Save as' operations.
