this is part of implementing github.com/supercollider/rfcs/pull/1

thanks for this! Just a quick question - are we trying to get that into 3.11.x?

it's not a big deal to me either way, but i don't see the harm in including this information in the 3.11 release branch.

- Ubuntu 14.04 and gcc 4.9

SuperCollider is known to support these platforms:
- Windows 7, Vista, 8, and 10

Sorry for nitpicking, but wouldn't it be better to do Windows Vista, 7, 8, and 10?
