@wouterj you want to remove only the download, I'd love to see how much is used compared to other minors framework (that already uses this)

As the readme file is the file displayed when you go on the repo on github, I would still find it useful to see the latest stable release

I'm always rejected adding badges to the README file as this is primarily a text file, and not the right place to give this kind of information. We have a website for that.
