Synergy Version

1.8.5

Steps to reproduce bug

e.g. on Windows.

  1. Insert garbage in to the registry key at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Synergy\Synergy\serialKey
  2. Attempt to open the Synergy GUI
  3. An uncaught exception will cause the GUI to terminate.

Other info

  • When did the problem start to occur? in v1.8.5
  • Is there a way to work around it? Yes, delete the above key before starting the GUI
  • Does this bug prevent you from using Synergy entirely? Yes
