Further split test_geometry moved global variables into individual tests to ensure tests run in isolation

I further split
test_geometry.pyinto representative test files. Now test_geometry is completely refactored into the individual test files!I also moved global variables (in the geometry tests) into individual test cases to ensure tests run in isolation
