@rosariorobinson could you explain in more detail what the default image is for? Is the default image from the article? Where is the image posted? What is the purpose of this feature? When the PCV clicks on the link, it should open up on the browser on the mobile device? |
@rosariorobinson I should post these questions on the Google Doc we're sharing with Peace Corps. |
I think we resolved the requirements for this .. is that correct? |
@Neetuj @rosariorobinson, I posted my questions on the Google Doc that we're sharing with Peace Corps but so far I haven't gotten a reply. |
ok my bad .. i thought we already got a response on this. sorry On Fri, Aug 7, 2015 at 2:19 PM, Irish Medina notifications@github.com

I'm working on making sure you get the responses you need. Is this holding you up @Nerdylicious? |
@rosariorobinson, it's not holding me up (I've just been writing tests and fixing/improving a lot of the code in the meantime, I have many things to do still) but getting responses from Peace Corps has been very slow. |
@Neetuj @rosariorobinson @Nerdylicious Could you let us know the status of this issue as of now? |
@Nerdylicious Can I work on this? We can add an additional field for the link. I'm not so sure about the idea of adding a picture, because it's highly unlikely that the links would be from facebook or twitter. |
@mish24 This will be on hold. :) |
Actually adding new fields on the existing database isn't going to be easy in Django 1.6. The number of database columns cannot be altered like that. It throws a Programming Error. This issue was present in earlier versions of Django (Django south was a fix but it's deprecated now). |
@mish24 will this be on hold till porting to newest django version? |
Peace Corps wants an additional field so that they can add an article or link from an external source. It would be nice to have them enter a URL in a new field (maybe call it "external resource", we can get the confirmed label name from them) and then if there is a default image associated with the article, we post it like a Facebook post or Twitter post.
