So I totally get the regret Adam has with the creation of @apply, I don't like it either. 7 months ago I hit the ground running on a pretty large Django/Jinja2/Tailwind project. Being my first exposure to Tailwind, when I first started I thought @apply did something a bit different then it ACTUALLY does so I have been overhauling my idea of how to build more manageable components. But then that got me thinking, what about something like @Inject? Keep in mind I am saying this with not much background with tailwind and/or heavy javascript development so I could be completely wrong, and you can tell me that, I don't mind.
From what I understand, this is basically @apply??:

This is kinda how I thought @apply worked at first but obviously I was wrong. But maybe something like this could exist??
