Stage 1 Job Descriptions

Requires a completed drive by wire interface with PID control and a USB interface. The work has been divided into two categories:

Team Mario - Embedded control

Henry and Wim are tasked with creating a PCB and comms system with the following specs:

  • 32 bit micro capable of doing a bit of maths.
  • 2 PWM outputs to the actuator and servo (comms/long distance stuff)
  • USB

Team Luigi - Steering and brake actuation

Simon and Zac will choose components for the following:

  • A servo to control the steering.
  • A linear actuator to drive the brake pedal.
  • Brackets or other mounting systems for both.
  • Cabling back to the comms port from the control board.
