Before creating a bug report, I wanted to check and see if anyone is using termux emacs with async, or if anyone knows what might cause the issue I'm having.
OS: Termux 0.118.0 (118), loaded from f-droid
GNU Emacs 29.1 (build 1, aarch64-unknown-linux-android) of 2023-09-23, loaded from pkg in termux
async Version: 1.9.8, loaded from melpa using use-package and straight.el.
When I run this code:
(defvar scratch-1 nil)
(progn
(setq async-debug t)
(setq scratch-1 nil)
(async-start
`(lambda ()
(message "yes")
1)
(lambda (result)
(setq scratch-1 result))
))
;; result eventually stored in this global variable
(describe-variable scratch-1)
I get this in Messages:
Transmitting sexp {{{'(lambda nil
(message "yes")
1)
}}}
error in process sentinel: async-handle-result: End of file during parsing
error in process sentinel: End of file during parsing
And, I see this in emacs:
(async-signal (end-of-file))
And, emacs-err has a bunch of "Loading whatever..." lines in it, then:
Finding pointers to doc strings...
Finding pointers to doc strings...done
This code ran fine on alpine with the same configuration the day before.
I asked about this on a github issue for emacs-async, and I was told to ask here.
