rbcL Classifier v1

The rbcL v1 files can be used directly with the RDP Classifier (Wang et al., 2007) to make taxonomic assignments to the species rank. Total decompressed file size is 967 Mb.

rbcL records were mined from the NCBI nucleotide database [Jan. 10/20]. Sequences were filtered to retain only those that are 500bp+, contain no non-nucleotide characters, and have Linnean binomial species names.
Sequences were screened for bacterial contaminants. Bacterial outgroup sequences were added.

rbcL Classifier v1-ref

The rbcL v1-ref files can be used to train the RDP Classifier (Wang et al., 2007) and are included here for reference only. The original taxonomy and fasta files are included in this release. They were originally mined from GenBank in January 2020. Total decompressed file size is 168 Mb.
