Problem statement

As a CRE user I would like the operator to help me keep my custom runtime environment current in case there are updates in base image(s) on which my CRE is built upon.

High-level Goals

A way of automatically building (or at least offering to build) updated CREs when a base image that has been used to build a CRE gets an update

Creating this issue as an updated follow-up of BYON's open-services-group/byon#17

Acceptance Criteria

  • when a base image involved in a CRE gets updated, the operator detects that
  • a way to let the user know about updates exists, or
  • new version of the CRE is built using the updated base image
