Quicktext allows to load templates (or scripts) stored at a central location during Thunderbird startup. This allows to centrally manage a set of templates and allows multiple Thunderbird installations to use them. Such automatically imported templates are read-only.

  1. Create the XML-file that you want to share. The easiest is to set up templates in one client and then just use the export function.
  2. Place the XML-file somewhere, so that all your clients can reach it. This can be a network drive or a webserver.
  3. Setup every client so they know which file to import: Open the Quicktext settings window and go to the General Tab and enter the path to the XML-file into the field called "Import on startup". If you want to import multiple files, use the semicolon (;) as delimiter between the different paths.
  4. Restart Thunderbird to get the file(s) imported.
