Does recipes override the default model pre-processing functions in caret train

For a number of models there are already inbuilt pre-processing features. For example glmnet has standardize = TRUE for all variables as a default. If you provide a recipe to carets train that does not involve center and scaling, will this be overriden by the default model (glmnet) function?
