"This relation creation is not allowed. The two readings can be co-located" #178

After creating a custom relationship type ("spelling") I have had no luck setting it on a pair of spelling variants. I keep getting the following error message: "Error: This relation creation is not allowed. The two readings can be co-located. The relationship cannot be made". It is not clear what co-location could entail in this case. If this not a bug, a better explanation of the error would be appreciated.

The error suggests that, when you created the relation type, you didn't tick the "Is this a colocation?" box. Does it work if you edit the relation type and make sure that box is checked? (You probably also want the "Is this a transitive relation?" box ticked too.
