Ariane 540C

CapCom edited this page Jul 16, 2020 · 27 revisions

Ariane 540C has two variants: the 541C and the 543C. Both uses the well-known Ariane 5 parts with dark purposes and few conscience. Actually, they are the brainchild of Ariane 5 and of Kerbal's most reknwown motto: "MOAR BOOSTERS". And while Ariane 541C is almost sane, 543C has absolutely lost it. See by yourself...

543C 4x EAP 2x EPC EPC Enhanced ESC

Basic Build Guide - Ariane 541C

The 541C is actually quite an obvious concept: take the two Ariane 5 EAPs and make it four ! Then, upgrade your second stage with a dual nozzle engine, and here you go: a brand new 541C is now standing on the pad... or falling apart because you forgot to add struts, but that's none of my business.

Second Stage

  • Payload Adapter K-250 "Kyida" / Dual Payload Adapter K-375 "Kylda"
  • 3.75m Fairing
  • Ariane "Behaviour" Small Fuel tank
  • Probe Core "Cortex" Avionics System
    • 2x Mk-61 "Zorg" RCS Pod
  • RE-L10 "Poodle" Liquid Fuel Engine

First Stage

  • Decoupler G2500
  • 3.75m Fairing
  • Ariane 5 EPC
  • Ariane 5 "Vulcain" Liquid Fuel Engine

Boosters

  • 4x KEREB-H "Dr-Strange" Radial Decoupler
  • 4x Ariane 5 "EAP" Solid Fuel Booster
    • EAP Nose Cone For Ariane 5
      • 8x Pushotron

Basic Build Guide - Ariane 543C

The 543C is arguably out of his mind, and is definitely not a reasonable concept. It can thus be described as the perfect launcher to put on Kerbin's launch pads ! This astonishing rocket takes an Ariane 5, and methodically removes every bit of decency and sanity to make room for two addition EPC, and 4 EAPs. It's entirely plausible that such a concept would be pitched with cross-feed fuel tanks, or on the contrary without decouplers. But here you have a guide to build a version that uses a lower thrust main core and two full power outer cores. It's unclear what would have been mounted inside this huge fairing, but it would definitely have been large, and heavy.

*Engineer note found on the back of the rocket: Good luck with that one. And don't forget to build a bunker prior to main engines ignition.

Third Stage

  • Payload Adapter K-250 "Kyida" / Dual Payload Adapter K-375 "Kylda"
  • 3.75m Fairing
  • Ariane "Behaviour" Small Fuel tank
  • Probe Core "Cortex" Avionics System
    • 2x Mk-61 "Zorg" RCS Pod
  • HM7 "Zebulon" Liquid Fuel Engine

Second Stage

  • Decoupler G2500
  • 3.75m Fairing
  • Ariane 5 EPC
  • Ariane 5 "Vulcain" Liquid Fuel Engine

First Stage

Ariane 534C's First Stage basically consists of two Ariane 5 strapped on either sides of the second stage. It's unclear whether they would have been dropped in flight with a thrust-reduced main core, but it's KSP, so we added moar boosters.

  • 2x KEREB-H "Dr-Strange" Radial Decoupler
  • 2x Ariane 5 EPC
  • 2x Ariane 5 "Vulcain" Liquid Fuel Engine

Boosters

Those are like secondary boosters. There is two of EAP strapped on each first stage side tanks. As I said: two Ariane 5s strapped on the main core ! How crazy is that...

  • 2x KEREB-H "Dr-Strange" Radial Decoupler
  • 2x Ariane 5 "EAP" Solid Fuel Booster
    • EAP Nose Cone For Ariane 5
      • 8x Pushotron
