This replaces travis-ci/travis-ci#4539.

The original text by @gebart follows

libnewlib-arm-none-eabi is used for building many bare metal ARM embedded projects

Ran tests and found setuid bits by purely textual search. Further analysis is required.

If these are found to be benign, add:

libnewlib-dev libnewlib-doc libnewlib-arm-none-eabi newlib-source

See https://travis-ci.org/travis-ci/apt-whitelist-checker/builds/72545665.

The setuid, setgid, seteuid parts are inside the C code and header files because newlib prodvide basic stubs for these system calls for embedded systems. There are no setuid files installed from the package.

I second this request, and agree after perusing the logs that there is nothing being installed setuid. There are simply a handful of text files that happen to contain that string, which is completely unsurprising as it's a libc implementation.

Bump. This complements gcc-arm-none-eabi nicely.

Bump again. What can I do to help get this accepted?

It seems this has been accepted already. Installing this package works in my environment. But I don't see it in the text file.

Ran tests, but could not found source package. Either the source package for libnewlib-arm-none-eabi does not exist, or the package needs an APT source. If you wish to add an APT source, please follow the directions on https://github.com/travis-ci/apt-source-whitelist#source-approval-process. Build results: https://travis-ci.org/travis-ci/apt-whitelist-checker/builds/440490554.
