Tests using content shell are failing #4406
Comments
Same error for me on stable and dev. Any idea @kevmoo @nex3 @nicolasgarnier ? |
@nex3 has been tweaking test and async – could be a one-off issue. |
@kevmoo I just tried versions 0.12.2, 0.12.3, and 0.12.3+7 of the test package, and they're having the same issue, although different error messages. |
What OS is this? What version of |
@nex3, the OS is Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. Content shell was downloaded from https://storage.googleapis.com/dart-archive/channels/stable/release/latest/dartium/content_shell-linux-x64-release.zip. Looks like the version is 19.77.34.5 (34.5). |
I need the version of Dart that your |
@nex3 it's running Dart 1.11.1, as reported through Observatory. |
I can't reproduce this with |
@danschultz and/or @a14n - do either of you have travis results + repo we could look at? |
@kevmoo, ours is a private repo. If you'd like me to setup a repro case, let me know. |
@a14n It seems that we're just failing on dev, right? |
@kevmoo quite strange. First time I restarted the build the 2 channels were failing. Today without any change I restarted the build on the same job and it seems that on dev is failing. |
Just sent a pull request to test as well. So we're failing with the latest dev release only - https://travis-ci.org/a14n/dart-rational/jobs/72003125 |
Just figure it out. Maybe there had been some changes on content_shell binaries ? |
That's the only thing I can think....hmm... On Tue, Jul 21, 2015 at 12:44 PM, Alexandre Ardhuin <

I did 2 new rebuilds of the same job (https://travis-ci.org/a14n/dart-rational/builds/61361286). The first time the build was green (dev and stable) and the second was all red (dev and stable) :-( I tried to see a diff in the logs. There are some strange things when installing the fonts ; I can not see the following section when it failed :
Logs when it failed :
Logs when it succeed :
|
Trying to set |
Without ansi, here's the missing section when it fails :
|
@a14n were you able to make progress w/ the Dockerfile I shared with you? |
Looks like things are back to normal. Clearing caches in Travis seems to have helped. |
Can this issue be closed? |
I still see the issue :-/ (on the second build I relaunched) @kevmoo I'm on vacations and I'm not able to look at the issue with your dockerfile. Sorry. |
Arggg the third and fourth builds just succeed. It looks like the issue is still there but less frequent. @kevmoo perhaps if you update the docker file to skip the ms-font install you will be able to confirm that the issue is due to that. |
I'm seeing this again on every build since Dart 1.14.1 was released. Build for reference: https://travis-ci.org/Workiva/w_transport/builds/107286146 |
@evanweible-wf Hrm...I'll take a look... |
@evanweible-wf – pro tip: you can link to an individual line on the travis output https://travis-ci.org/Workiva/w_transport/builds/107286146#L631 Putting this here for FYI |
@kevmoo not sure if anything changed this weekend, but content_shell tests are passing in new builds now. I'll let you know if I see this crop up again, but for now it seems to be working. |
Please do! |
I'm seeing this (or something similar) again with Dart 1.16.1 - content shell tests are failing because content shell is failing with exit code 1: https://travis-ci.org/Workiva/w_transport#L770 |
trying to track down travis-ci/travis-ci#4406 (comment)
Trying to get a repro here https://travis-ci.org/dart-lang/shelf/builds/135648605 |
Yup. Looks like we have a hiccup in 1.16.1 We're REALLY close to releasing 1.17 (where this doesn't seem to be a problem), so I doubt we'll go back and patch 1.16.1. @evanweible-wf Where are you on the blocked/annoyed spectrum? |
@kevmoo not a blocker, I was just trying to test out the latest coverage package, we can wait for 1.17 |
FYI same issue w/ 1.16.1 on polymer-app-layout: https://travis-ci.org/ilikerobots/polymer-app-layout/builds/131419148 |
Thanks for contributing to this issue. As it has been 90 days since the last activity, we are automatically closing the issue. This is often because the request was already solved in some way and it just wasn't updated or it's no longer applicable. If that's not the case, please do feel free to either reopen this issue or open a new one. We'll gladly take a look again! All of our tests using Content Shell have started to fail with the message:
We started to notice this problem yesterday. We're using version 0.12.3+7 of the
test
package, and this is happening on both the stable and dev versions of Dart. Any ideas?cc @a14n, @devoncarew, @sethladd
