This library will be taken down at the end of the month. My reasoning is as follows:

  • It seems nobody has found the time to take a look at it for the Swift 3 migration.
  • So I tried my hand at it and it was bloody awful and just not worth it
  • This library is using a number of anti-patterns left over from Swift 1.0
  • This library is not well documented
  • This library has a small userbase
  • There are more Swift JSON libraries than atoms in the universe somehow
  • And all of them can be beaten by a 20-line extension of Dictionary

I agree that there are a ton of JSON libraries on Swift. I'm not sure that removing this library is a good thing though. I could take the time to migrate it to Swift 3 to maintain compatibility.

@mpurland If you want to try your hand at the refactoring more power to you, but having tried it myself I'm not convinced. I don't want you to have to extend yourself to do the same when I know you have other responsibilities. The work you did on this was and is fantastic, but I think the sun has set on this library.
