This version of the Last Resort fonts corresponds to Unicode Version 15.1.0. The following changes were made in this release:

• One new glyph that corresponds to the following new block was added:

Version 15.000 Release

This version of the Last Resort fonts corresponds to Unicode Version 15.0.0. The following changes were made in this release:

• The mappings for the following block were modified to reflect a new final code point, and its glyph was also modified to reflect the new end code point of the range that is specified on its right side:

• The Platform ID and Encoding ID of the Format 13 'cmap' subtable of the Last Resort High-Efficiency font were changed from 3 (Windows) and 10 (Unicode full repertoire), respectively, to 0 (Unicode) and 6 (Unicode full repertoire), respectively, per the OpenType Specification (see Issue #8).

• The Last Resort font’s Format 4 'cmap' subtable now includes 65,535 mappings for the range 0000..FFFE (see Issue #9).

Version 13.001 Release

This version of the Last Resort font corresponds to Unicode Version 13.0.0.

This release includes two versions of the Last Resort font. Although both fonts can be installed at the same time, because they have different names, you are encouraged to download and install only the one that is expected to work in the environments that you use:

• The file LastResort-Regular.ttf is a font named Last Resort, and its 'cmap' table includes a Format 12 (Segmented coverage) subtable that is supported in virtually all modern environments. This font is 8MB and includes 5,063 glyphs. Download and install this font if you are unsure which one to use.

• The file LastResortHE-Regular.ttf is a font named Last Resort High-Efficiency, and its 'cmap' table includes the more efficient—for this type of font—Format 13 (Many-to-one range mappings) subtable that may not be supported in some environments, such as most Windows and Adobe apps. Therefore, this font, which is considerably smaller (500K) and with fewer glyphs (342), requires greater care when downloaded and installed.

Both fonts’ 'cmap' table include a stub (aka empty) Format 4 (Segment mapping to delta values) subtable, which is a Windows OS requirement.

Version 13.000 Release

This version of the Last Resort font corresponds to Unicode Version 13.0.0.

NOTE: The Last Resort font’s 'cmap' table includes only a Format 13 (Many-to-one range mappings) subtable, which may not be supported in some environments.
