Parts of a window

  • Title and proxy icon: The name/icon of the file being displayed. Hover to read the full title if it's cut off. Click the dropdown arrow to open a context menu for the file. The proxy supports many other operations such as drag-and-drop; see Proxy Icon.

    • Drag the title bar of a child window to detach it from its parent. Hold shift when dragging to close all parent windows.
  • Parent button: Click to open the containing folder to the left. Right-click to open a menu of all containing folders.

  • Info text: Information about the file. Hover to read the full text if it's cut off. This can be hidden in Settings.

  • Toolbar: Buttons for common actions. This can be hidden in Settings.

    • New (Folder): Create a new folder or file from a template
    • View (Folder): Change view mode (icons, list, details...)
    • Refresh (Folder): Reload the folder with any changes to its contents. This usually happens automatically.
    • Save (Text editor): Save a text file (will be grayed out if there are no changes to save)
    • Delete file (Text editor): Move this file to the Recycle Bin.
    • Menu: Open menu with additional commands (will vary based on window type / selection)
