This version has a new "autogen.sh" file.

Make it executable and run it as "./autogen.sh";
this will perform the whole build process for you.
You will find "CSBwin" in the "src" subdirecory if
the build dependencies are fulfilled; if not,
the process will stop and hopefully give you a hint
about the missing package.

You can change this file to suit your needs.
Edit only the "autogen.sh" in the main folder,
leave "macros/autogen.sh" as is.

1) Dynamic window sizes

In this version, the "Hermes" library is disbled,
because I had it properly installed, but it was
nonetheless not found by the "configure" process.

To re-enable it, delete "--disable-dynwinsize" from the "PARAM" line.

Without "Hermes", you can still switch between different screen
resolutions, but it might be necessary to resize the window by hand.
Resizing the window does not change the resolution.

2) GTK+ 1.2

This version has GTK enabled, so you get a second window with
menus containing some useful switches at the expense of requiring
the old GTK 1.2 libraries to be installed.

To disable GTK, delete "--enable-oldgtk" from the "PARAM" line.

This will build a version with only the command line switches and
the main game interface and no menus, which doesn't depend on GTK.

3) Remaining bugs

You should save your game frequently and reserve one save slot
to keep track of your progress, because the game can crash at
any time.

Playing Conflux 3.5B8 showed the following errors here:

a) The sound eventually stops working. Restarting "CSBwin" helps.
   It might be necessary to restart Esound/ESD as well.
b) The game will crash with "system error 45" from time to time.
   This cannot be avoided, as far as I know.

Message boxes complaining about "Excessive DSA activity",
or "Too many monsters of size 4" can be safely ignored,
you must confirm them before continuing, however.

	Dependencies
	
	* You need SDL properly installed on your system.
	* Hermes for dynamicly stretched windows (optional).
	* You need esd for sound (optional).
	* You need GTK 1.2 to enable a menu (optional).

	To compile CSB for linux, type
	
		chmod +x autogen.sh
		./autogen.sh
		make

	Special options are

		./autogen.sh --enable-release
			Release compilation removes the
			debug information from the binary.
			No optimazation of the code is done
			if you compile without release enabled.
	
		./autogen.sh --disable-dynwinsize
			This option is more an experimental option.
			This compilation removes the need of Hermes
			but the screen will only have four different
			fixed sizes:
				320 * 200 pixels.
				640 * 400
				960 * 600
				1280 * 800
			With Hermes the screen size had been a
			multipel of 320 * 240 instead, which looks
			better.

		./autogen.sh --enable-efence
			This option is only usefull when debugging.
			Enable this to compile with electric fence.

		./autogen.sh --disable-esound
			If you want to disable esound. Sound will
			still be able to pipe to stdout. Be warned
			though, that the sound pipe will give a
			quite crappy sound experience.

		./autogen.sh --enable-oldgtk
			By using gtk1.2 you will get a menu which
			contains miscellaneous options.

	You also need the following files in order to play the game:
	
		dungeon.dat hcsb.dat hcsb.hct mini.dat
		graphics.dat config.linux
	
	Those files are not distributed with the source code. You can
	download them separately from http://dmweb.free.fr.
	
	If the files are located in different directories then the following
	cmd line arguments can be used:
	
	  --gamsav <path>
	  --directory <path>
	  --module <path>
	  --root-path <path>
  	
	The game does not care which argument is used. The game will
	search in all directories as specified with the above arguments.
	But, it will search in *that* order, so --gamsav has the
	'highest' priority. When a game file is written to a directory the
	game will also try to write in that order. So if --gamsav is not set,
	then the game will first of all try to save in your current working
	directory. If that fails, then it tries in --directory, and so forth.

	  --dungeon <file>

	The dungeon argument is used if you want to play in a certain
	dungeon. There are some circulating at http://dmweb.free.fr.

	  --timer <number>

	This option will set the internal callback-timer in millisecond.
	The game is heavenly dependent on the timer. If the game
	is awfully slow, then you can try to change the timer.

	  --play <file>

	If you have recorded your game play, then you can replay
	the game as a 'movie' with this option. To record a game
	you need to press "Record" in the "Misc"-menu when you
	face the entrance to the dungeon. A word of caution:
	Be carfull. If you save the game in the recording, then
	the playback will also save the game, and thus the
	save file might be overwritten. A recording is great
	if you want to submitt a bug.
	
	  --quick

	With this option set then your playback will be in a LOT
	faster pace. From the menu, this option is only available
	during a playback.

	If autogen.sh complains about a bad interpreter or that some files
	is missing, then it could be that those files have there end-of-line
	in DOS-style ('\n\r'), rather than in Posix style ('\n').
	If necessery check these files:
	
	autogen.sh configure.in Makefile.am macros/autogen.sh src/Makefile.am
