@Mr-Update can you explain the logic behind changing "Volumen" to "Volume". "Volumen" has been in use to describe TrueCrypt/VeraCrypt volumes for more than a decade and this change will bring questions from the German community. So I prefer to have some solid arguments before doing such change.

  1. räumliche Ausdehnung; Rauminhalt

In English:

  1. spatial extent; volume of space
  2. volume, total amount of something (within a certain period of time)
  3. volume (of a work)
  4. current intensity of a telephone or radio transmission
So the German Volumen has nothing to do with the English (VeraCrypt-)volume.
  • In the translation of DeepL, Datenträger is a possibility (see https://www.deepl.com/translator#en/de/volume).
But this word is already used in the German translation of VeryCrypt for disk and for device.

  • Datenträger means a hard disk in the Windows disk management.
Partition-based, file-based, outer or hidden hard disks would thus be confusing.

These are weighty reasons to stick with Volume.

By the way, the renaming from Volume to Volumen took place in December 2020 with PR 712 and PR 714.

Thank you for these explanations and sorry for the wrong statement about "Volumen" usage.
You are right, the change to "Volumen" is new and from the elements you share, going back to "Volume" is the right move. I missed this when PR 712/714 were merged, my bad.
Thank you again for your contribution.
