I'm still on the fence about this, but this is required if we want to support :0.
Can we only skip validation for :0 somehow?
Alternative is still to disallow :0 syntax.

We can skip validation for :0 by doing the initial commit here which replaces the patterns instead

This fixes using
:0for an unnamed multi-match(.*)not working in a custom-route destination frompathToRegexp.compilevalidation considering it invalid as the compile function treats:0as a named parameter unless the actual regex is passed instead e.g.(.*)instead of:0This also adds a test for this behavior and reverts starting unnamed indexes at
