Hello,

First of all, thank you very much for your work on next.js, it's amazing!

As said here , I also encountered the same problem. So, is it possible to make API routes optional?

Hi, thanks for taking the time to send this PR but we're not currently considering this.
You'll be able to re-mount this directory in the future via the rewrites feature.
