As stated above, the screen is black in TV app if I have a Dummy connected on an internal screen while the audio is clearly playing. Goes back to normal if disconnected or discarded. I use a 1920x1200 HIDPI on an internal MacBook Air M1 screen, if that helps. |

Yes, this a copy protection mechanism in macOS (which is super annoying - it does not prevent any Apple TV content to end up in torrent sites within a minute or so but prevents normal users from using their stuff normally). If you connect a Sidecar (Apple's own stuff!) or activate Airplay mirroring, the Apple TV app will just blank out as well. If you use a display via DisplayLink, Apple TV app will also blank out. If you sneeze, Apple TV will blank out. If you blink, the Apple TV will blank. :) |

If you are using a web browser to load your video content, you can turn off hardware acceleration in your browser (if it's not Safari). |
