URL: https://apclassroom.collegeboard.org

Browser / Version:
Operating System: Windows 10 (various builds), macOS Catalina and Gentoo Linux (customized 4.19.86)
Tested Another Browser: Yes Chrome

Problem type: Site is not usable
Description: Page not loading correctly
Steps to Reproduce:
The same problem described in issue #48229 by CrazyPython.
Attempting to visit full assignment lists (e.g. https://apclassroom.collegeboard.org/n/assessments/assignments) sends the user through a redirect loop while signed in that stops at apstudents.collegeboard.org.

This problem does not exist on Chrome and persists with uBlock Origin and HTTPS Everywhere disabled.

Thank for the report @MethodZero. Unfortunately, an student/educator account with access to assignments is needed.

Having no credentials for such an account I will close the issue as incomplete.

If you (or anyone else) can test more in depth and provide more information (valid credentials, console logs, error msg), please feel free to reopen or comment on the issue, and we'll have a thorough look at it.
Also could you try clearing cache/data/cookies, disable Ad-blocker (if available), or use a clean profile, and check again?

@softvision-sergiulogigan

Hey @MethodZero
If you feel comfortable, you can send a set of valid credentials to @miketaylr at miket@mozilla.com. We will sue thse credentials only for testing purposes, and we will not mess up your account.

I've attached copies of the console output upon trying to visit apclassroom.collegeboard.org while logged in. Clearing local data did not work, unfortunately.

Is there a public key you want me to use for the temporary credentials, or would it not be a problem to send them in the clear?

Thanks @MethodZero for your input. I will reopen the issue, move to Needsdiagnosis and see if our developers can use the information from the console logs.
We will keep you in the loop, if extra info is required we will let you know.

@MethodZero Sorry for not seeing this before.

So at least they seem to say that Firefox is supported.
https://apstudents.collegeboard.org/faqs/what-browsers-work-best-creating-college-board-account-joining-my-class-section-my-ap-using-ap

so in the screenshot of the logs there is something about push (which is about notifications and probably unrelated) but unfortunately it's very hard to debug without having a real access.

The infinite loop usually are happening when there is misconfiguration in user agent sniffing or cookies being blocked for any reasons

apstudents.collegeboard.org and myap.collegeboard.org

@MethodZero probably it would be better to contact the people maintaining collegeboard.org.

And if they can't find to ask them to ping me on this bug so we can work out what is not working together.

I can also help someone debug FYI (I have access to the site).

@llacb47 that would be great. Could you check what is happening in the network tab.

I sent an email to their customer service address and asked them if they can either look at the issue, or if they can provide us with testing credentials. From the console screenshots shown last year, there's so much going on there that anything could be the cause, and that's pretty much impossible to diagnose second-hand. Let's see if they can give us access. :)

@denschub I can send you a login in a private bug on bugzilla if needed. I'm pretty sure this is not webcompat tho, their login system is just terrible and constantly asks you to re-enter your password.

@llacb47 if you want to share credentials, please send them via email to dschubert@mozilla.com, not on Bugzilla. But if you think that's just their bad login system that's "broken by design", then I'm happy to close this as non-compat. Is it behaving the same way in Chrome for you?

Ping @llacb47.
@MethodZero does the issue still occurs?

Without valid credentials, I am not able to re-test the issue. @llacb47 Could you please provide the credentials again via my email?
@MethodZero is the issue still reproducible on your side?
