Can't establish connection to Postgres database

I've recently migrated an application to use diesel_async instead of sync diesel. Everything worked well in local environment, but once I deployed it to an Azure instance I couldn't establish the connection to Azure's Postgres instance. AsyncPgConnection::establish(...).await?; always results with Error: CouldntSetupConfiguration(DatabaseError(Unknown, "no pg_hba.conf entry for host \"X.X.X.X\", user \"dev\", database \"dev\", SSL off")). The sync equivalent PgConnection::establish(...)? works fine.

While the error seems to be straightforward, I'm not really sure why it works with sync Diesel, but fails with async version. Could it be caused by some differences between underlying Postgres libraries (pq-sys vs tokio-postgres)? Or perhaps some version mismatches?

It turns out Azure Postgres requires secure connection and following this example resolved the issue: https://github.com/weiznich/diesel_async/tree/main/examples/postgres/pooled-with-rustls
