What browser are you using? |
I assume you are using IE 7 or 8. I appears to be a bug with those browser causing the alt text to no being read. I was able to reproduce with NVDA |

Fixed issue #276 by adding title attribute to the multimedia player buttons
It should be fixed now. Please confirm. |
Yes, the Flash player buttons “play, rewind, fast forward, mute and show closed captioning” buttons are now being identified and read with the JAWS 13/screen reader IE 8 browser combination. From: Laurent Goderre [mailto:notifications@github.com] It should be fixed now. Please confirm. |
The functionality of the buttons is no longer working- play, fast forward, rewind etc.. Is this because you are currently working on the player? Thanks, Stacy From: Laurent Goderre [mailto:notifications@github.com] It should be fixed now. Please confirm. |
Really? I haven't change the functionality... |
It works for me.... |
I was noticing yesterday that the videos are working great in IE7/8, Firefox and Safari, but Chrome (v21.0) was a bit erratic on the button clicks. Sometimes it would be ~10 seconds before they would respond to clicks, other times immediately. In a bare bone test with only one video, the Chrome network panel shows two requests for the video's source, one with a 206 partial content HTTP response (buffering I'm guessing) and the other as pending (forever). @LaurentGoderre Do you think this is contributing to the inconsistent UI behaviour? |
Now working for me. Refreshing the page didn’t work. I had to restart the browser (should have tried that first). From: Laurent Goderre [mailto:notifications@github.com] It works for me.... |
@patheard what your experiencing is simply slow network connection though at the moment it probably is confusing to the user and some sort of indication should be used to let the user know that the video is loading. The two HTTP request is normal and is consistent with the way videos are handled in HTML5. The first request gets the metadata for the video such as the height, width and duration. The second request actually gets the video data. |
@patheard can you submit as a separate issue the need to have a loading indicator |
details
