using cross-env is standard in other popular libraries to avoid conflicts trying to dockerize or working in windows machines https://github.com/gatsbyjs/gatsby/blob/master/packages/gatsby-image/package.json

and if you want to access the language inside graphql as a variable to dynamic present content you need to pass it as a string not an object.
