Correct clerical error in BUFR Table B entry 0-40-063

Summary and purpose

It is proposed to correct a clerical error in 0-40-063 “Scaling vector multiplying the a priori CO vector in order to define the retrieved CO vector” by renaming the table entry to to “Scaling vector multiplying the a priori vector in order to define the retrieved vector”.

Action proposed

The meeting is requested to approve the contents for inclusion within the next update to the WMO Manual on Codes.

Discussions

When the Table B entry 0-40-063 “Scaling vector multiplying the a priori CO vector in order to define the retrieved CO vector” was introduced, it included a clerical error. The name of the entry should in fact be “Scaling vector multiplying the a priori vector in order to define the retrieved vector”. The fact that the vector applies to CO should be expressed by preceding 0-40-063 with the descriptor 0-08-046 declaring the atmospheric chemical constituent CO.
