Welcome to the TTAP

What is TTAP?

Time Table Arranging Program is a hobby project initiated by a group of students from Software Engineering course in UTAR. The purpose of this software is to solve a problem that most UTAR student face in every end of a semester in UTAR which is arranging and bidding the timetable.

How TTAP works?

Why TTAP was introduced? Let see what happen to a student called "Ali" when he attempt to arrange and bid the timetable.

How students bid and arrange timetable

  1. Log in to UTAR Course Registration website
  2. View the list of available timeslots for each subject
  3. If friends are good, wait for friends to help to arrange timetable
  4. Or else you need to arrange timetable manually using bare brain and pencil (or Microsoft Excel) and write down the combination of timetable that is to be used for bidding timetable.

Troublesome uh huh?

Actually there are no problem for step 1, 2 and 4, the only problem is step 3.

Problem Faced By Student in step 3

  • Ali do not know how to start to arrange the program
  • Ali want to minimize the gap between classes but couldn’t find a solution.
  • Ali like to has no class on Monday but he cannot arrange a possible timetable for his desire.
  • Ali always busy with his homework and revision and the timetable arrangement period always around the final exam, * therefore he couldn’t has any free time to arrange the timetable.
  • Ali has arranged his desire timetable based on the preview course list 2 days before the course registration start.

However, the course time for some subject has been modified few hours before the registration start and Ali only realized when he start to bid for the timetable. At the end, he couldn’t get the desire timetable.
