XCP-NG Guest Tools for Windows not working #483
Comments
Can't say for XCP-ng tools, but at least for the Citrix ones, IIRC, you need to use Legacy tools now, to get it working for Windows 7. |
Oh, didn't know there was such a thing as legacy tools. As for XCP-NG, if there is a minimum requirement of windows 10 this should definitely be clarified in the docs. If there are legacy tools as well, it should be clarified. |
I have similar problem with Windows 10 21H2 November 2021 - drivers are not installing. I have two Xcp-Ng servers, one is 7.2 and brand new 8.2, this VM that i was try to install tools, is not installing at all. |
@olivierlambert Is this dead in the water? Just wanting to know if there are any plans on bringing this out of RC status? |
It is not, but it takes more time than I expected to find people able to work on this full time. Until then, go to https://www.xenserver.com/downloads and "XenServer VM Tools for Windows 9.3.2". |
While migrating a Windows 7 64b VM from VMWare, I
1 - Uninstalled VMWare tools
2 - As explained in the docs (https://xcp-ng.org/docs/guests.html#windows) downloaded the latest release of the community tools (https://github.com/xcp-ng/win-pv-drivers/releases) (Last updated in 2019, is this no longer being developed?).
3 - And tried installing. It results in the image below. The tools appear installed, but even after restarting the VM nothing happens, and I don't get the "Management Agent installed successfully" sign that I'm supposed to get.
